The smell of a cheese cornbread (or as it is called in Serbia proja) can bring you back to your childhood, to you grandma’s or mum’s kitchen. Or maybe to those days when you were making with them your first culinary steps? When they gave you your first small tasks: measure a cup of flour, or later chop up ham and gherkins. A jointly prepared meal has always been the most delicious one. So, if this recipe brings back similar memories – call your little one to crack eggs instead of you and mix them with cheese…

Ingredients

  • 2 cups of the Moja Kravica buttermilk

  • 2 cups of wheat flour

  • 2 cups of corn flour

  • 1/3 cup of olive oil

  • 8 eggs

  • 1 packet of baking powder

  • A little bit of salt

  • 300 g of ham

  • 500 g of Moja Kravica Kuhinjica cottage cheese

  • 3-4 gherkins

  • 1 teaspoon of oregano

Preparation

  1. Cut ham and gherkins into small cubes, turn the oven to 180°C and grease the baking pan. Take an electric mixer or a whisk, and lightly beat the eggs. Add buttermilk, salt, and olive oil – previously mix flour and baking powder and then add them to the mixture.
