Milk contains significant quantities of vitamins A, D and small quantities of vitamin E and K which are soluble in fats.

Most of the positive effects that yogurt has on health comes from the presence of live lactic acid bacteria.
Lactic acid bacteria carry out the fermentation process which turns the lactose into lactic acid. Lactic acid affects the peristaltic of the intestines and increases the absorption of calcium and phosphorus.
The nutritious value of yogurt, like in milk, consists of the basic ingredients that the human organism needs for growth, reproduction, maintenance and the fulfilment of energy needs.
  • What are probiotics and which Imlek products contain them?

Prebiotics are indigestible food contents which positively affect the host by selectively stimulating the growth and/or activity of one or a limited number of useful bacteria in the large intestine, which improves the health of the host. The probiotics that Imlek uses are declared as inulin, oligofructose, fructo- oligosaccharides or fiber, and are obtained from the root of the chicory plant. Balans+ is a brand from Imlek’s portfolio which contains probiotics.
  • What is lactose intolerance?

Lactose intolerance is a set of symptoms which are the consequence of the diminished capacity of the digestive system to process lactose, i.e. milk sugar. There is no lactase enzyme in the small intestine or the cells of the digestive tract do not produce enough of that enzyme. Therefore, the undigested milk sugar passes into the large intestine, where it feeds the bacteria which cause gases. That is why bloating occurs accompanied by pain and cramps. Part of the lactose which does not feed the bacteria, retracts water with it, which leads to diarrhea.
Moja Kravica mleko bez laktoze (Moja Kravica milk without lactose) is a product from which lactose is removed using the influence of the lactase enzyme. It is recommended for persons which, due to lactose intolerance, cannot consume the classic Imlek products.

The biggest part of protein in milk is composed of three proteins: casein, lactoalbumin and lactoglobulin. Cow’s milk on average contains about 3,2% of protein, which is about 30% of milk’s dry matter, showing us that milk is a foodstuff rich in protein.
It is considered that for a normal metabolism, 1g of protein/kg of body weight per day is needed. Proteins from milk, after proteins from egg, have the biggest biological value. That is because they contain all the essential amino-acids. That is why protein from milk is highly valued in alimentation and why milk and dairy products should be consumed, if because of nothing else, then because of the quantity and quality of proteins that milk contains.
As a response to the needs of the consumers to have products with increased protein content, Imlek has launched a pallet of products with increased protein content under the brand Balans + protein.
Balans + protein yogurt contains 10g of protein in a portion of 250 grams, i.e. 4g/100g of product, which is about 30% more protein compared to standard yogurts. The product has 0% of milk fat and contains clinically tested probiotics LA5 and BB12 and fibers.
